K.J. Bryant
K.J. Bryant is a marketing professional who reinvented herself, leaving behind the security of an established career for the freedom (and risk) of a new life as a writer. She is writing a book on her experiences, and needed a website to build awareness and buzz.
Bryant knew what she wanted on her site. Based on her business knowledge and experience she'd developed a comprehensive marketing plan, with an e-newsletter as the focus. She wanted a site that would connect her marketing efforts, gather information about site visitors, and encourage people to spread the word.
Most of all, she wanted a site that would build her e-newsletter subscriber list, to help attract the interest of a book publisher.
What We Did
- Developed a visual identity to suit Brant's market strategy and goals
- Worked with Bryant to develop content for her site, and created a site that is highly navigable and inviting, yet streamlined so it loads quickly over any connection
- Built an online polling feature, to encourage visitor participation and increase site stickiness
- Set up an e-newsletter in Constant Contact, using the same branding as the website, and intgrated its signup and subscriber tools into the site
- Trained Bryant to update and manage the site
- Ensured the site featured in search engine results for key search terms

How do you promote something that doesn't exist yet? I'm writing a book, but to attract a publisher, I first have to show I have an audience. Big Big Design helped me create a Web site and e-newsletter to accomplish this goal and it is working brilliantly. Within three weeks, I had hundreds of visitors to my site, rave reviews and a newsletter subscriber list over 300 hundred. I also received an offer from a small press to publish my yet-to-be-written book.
